Aida Yespica was born on July 15, 1982 in the Venezuelan capital of Caracas.  Always tall for her age, Aida quickly hit upon the idea of becoming a model, and she soon turned that dream into a reality by signing a teen modeling contract with an agency in Venezuela.

Though it would mean having to leave her close-knit family, Aida’s rising fame and growing potential beckoned her to travel abroad, and in, Aida moved to Italy to pursue her modeling career. This opened many doors for Aida, but she never forgot her roots: in 2002, Aida returned to her homeland to represent the state of Amazonas (“Amazon”) in the annual Miss Venezuela competition. Though she didn’t claim the title, she did win a special award and capture international attention.

After appearing in the pageant, Aida made contacts all over Europe. She appeared alongside Sean Connery in a television commercial for RAS financial services, and she served as the face of  UK mobile provider “3”, England’s fastest-growing multinational broadband and wireless company.

Of course, Aida’s success was not limited to the world of commercials. She broke into the world of music videos in 2003 with a starring role in the hit Italian song “Latin Lover” by Cesare Cremonini. She would later also star in Coolio’s “Dip It” and the video for “Get involved”, the 2010 hit by Ginuwine featuring Timbaland and Missy Elliot.

The next step for Aida was television. After starting with a number of fashion programs, she landed a debut presenter role on the hilarious late-night comedy show Bulldozer. Aida’s presence so impacted ratings onBulldozer broadcasting channel Rai Due that Aida was given roles on two other shows: one, a variety show called SFormat, and the other, an adaptation of the American show Celebrity Survivor called L’Isola dei Famosi.

With the support of her fans, Aida made it all the way to the semifinal episode. Thought she didn’t win the competition, viewers – and the world at large – fell in love with her. After her TV appearances, she graced the covers of such premier magazines as GQ and Maxim, along with many others.

From 2005-2007, Aida’s entertainment presence soared, expanding from England and Italy to global Spanish-speaking markets. She was a contestant in Supervivientes: Perdidos en el Caribe, the Hispanic version of Celebrity Survivor that aired on network Telecinco. Once again, this fan favorite reached the semifinal before being voted off the island, and once she returned to civilization, she returned to her adoptive hometown: Milan.

Together with Pamela Prati, Aida starred on the Rai Due TV program La Compagnia del Bagaglino: Torte in Faccia.  Aida began to star on programs for Channel 5, with star turns in such dramatic shows and TV-movies as Domani è un’altra Truffa (“Tomorrow is Another Scam”), Bagaglino, E Io Pago (“And I Pay”), andDi che Peccato Sei (“What Sin You Are”).

After expanding her talents on the small screen, Aida leapt onto the big screen with her role in the 2007 comedy Natale in Crociera (“Christmas Cruise”), which saw her alongside such greats of Italian cinema as Christian De Sica, Michelle Hunziker and Fabio De Luigi. Her increased visibility caught the eye of Italian footballer Matteo Ferrari, with whom she had a son, Aron. Though her relationship with Ferrari wasn’t meant to be, the new little bundle of joy definitely changed her life for the better, and her son Aron has long been her new true love.

What’s Aida been up to lately? Well, she’s been quite busy. Despite the demands of being a new mom, Aida has landed a number of commercial spokesperson roles over the last few years, including the jewelry brands Zancan and Davite & De Lucchi; the Oxydo line of designer prescription glasses and sunglasses; and not one but two lines of sleek lingerie: Papillon and “Sièlei”.

Of course, Aida is always looking to get back in front of the camera, and in 2012, Aida returned to the show that made her a fan favorite: L’Isola dei Famosi. In this special version of Celebrity Survivor, the production crew picked a cast by reinviting the best competitors of the previous islands – and of course, Aida was brought. Not only did she return, in fact – she won! And most importantly, she did it all with good morals and high values, showing the world – and her son at home – what it means to be truly successful.

Aida has decided to spend some time in sunny Southern California. She’s looking forward to perfecting her English and spending time with Aron as they write the next chapter of their adventure.
